Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Sends Off First Hajj Batch for 2026 from Solo Embarkation Point, Central Java Dispatches 34,122 Pilgrims

Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen sent off the first batch of Central Java Hajj pilgrims from the Solo Embarkation Point (Donohudan), Boyolali Regency, on Tuesday night, 21 April 2026.

The first batch, SOC 1 from Tegal Regency, is scheduled to depart from Adi Soemarmo Airport at 01:05 WIB on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, aboard Garuda Indonesia flight GIA 6101 to Madinah.

According to data from the Central Java Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Hajj quota for Central Java this year totals 34,122 people. This comprises 32,138 pilgrims on regular waiting lists, 1,706 priority elderly pilgrims, 191 local Hajj officials, and 87 guides from Hajj Worship Guidance Groups (KBIH).

The pilgrims will depart through two embarkation points: Solo and Yogyakarta. A total of 81 batches will depart via Solo Embarkation, while 15 batches from the Kedu residency area will use Yogyakarta International Airport.

The number of pilgrims departing via Solo Embarkation reaches 28,772, accompanied by 321 Hajj officials. Meanwhile, via Yogyakarta Embarkation, there are 5,368 pilgrims accompanied by 60 Hajj officials.

On this occasion, Taj Yasin advised the Hajj pilgrims to maintain their health, unity, and the good name of the region and Indonesia while in the Holy Land. He also urged them to follow the guidance of their KBIH guides and the prepared schedule.

“The most important thing to follow there is the guidance from the Hajj guides in the KBIH,” he said.

Taj Yasin also emphasised the importance of maintaining physical condition from the start of the journey. He reminded that the Hajj pilgrimage lasts about 40 days, so pilgrims must carefully manage their stamina.

“Maintain health, maintain unity,” he said.

He also asked pilgrims to uphold good behaviour in the Holy Land. Central Java pilgrims must help preserve the positive image of Indonesian pilgrims, who are known for being orderly, polite, and not causing trouble for others.

“The good name of Central Java Province must also be upheld there,” he said.

Head of the Central Java Health Office, Yunita Dyah Kusminar, stated that the committee has conducted a comprehensive re-examination of official documents certifying the physical and mental fitness of prospective pilgrims to perform Hajj.

“Our main preparation is to re-check the istitha’ah results for all pilgrims,” she said.

She noted that batch 1 is in safe condition. However, for batch 2, two pilgrims were referred to Moewardi Hospital, while for batch 3, two pilgrims were rested and one is still under observation.

According to her, this does not automatically cancel their departure. Fitness for flight is determined through special assessments by the 24-hour medical team.

“Health checks are very important to keep pilgrims healthy there. So, depart healthy, return healthy,” she said.

One prospective pilgrim from Margasari, Tegal Regency, Maliyah, expressed her joy at being able to perform Hajj. This departure comes after waiting since 14 years ago. In a wheelchair, the 75-year-old still gave thanks for being able to go on Hajj, having been ill previously.

“On Monday, I was hospitalised. But alhamdulillah, I’m recovered, and the health check earlier was good. I registered with my husband, but he passed away 4-5 years ago. Now I’m going with my son-in-law,” said the elderly woman.

Guide for Batch 3 SOC from Tegal Regency, Ahmad Risyanto, said that this year’s Hajj services are better than the previous year, especially in distributing pilgrim needs, administrative services, and clarity of departure procedures.

“For this year, I think the services have improved,” he said.

For information, Solo Embarkation has again received Makkah Route services at Adi Soemarmo Airport to speed up the departure process and reduce pilgrim fatigue. Additionally, Nusuk cards have now been distributed and activated at the embarkation point.

The send-off event for the first batch was attended by Deputy Chair of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives Abdul Wahid, Head of the Central Java Ministry of Religious Affairs Office Saiful Mujab, Hajj organisers, local government officials, and several religious organisation figures.
