Jakarta’s Deputy Governor Rano Karno opened the 2026 Regional Business Forum, themed Indonesia Economic Outlook: Regional Strategies to Address Global Economic Dynamics, initiated by the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) Jaya.

In his speech, Rano described the forum as a strategic space to strengthen synergy between the government and the business world amid increasingly complex global economic dynamics. He affirmed that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to simplifying permits and providing fiscal incentives to encourage investment and facilitate business activities.

“HIPMI Jaya plays a strategic role in driving innovation, strengthening competitiveness, and opening more job opportunities. This forum is expected to produce concrete ideas that enhance collaboration between the government, the business world, and stakeholders,” said Rano on Monday, 27 April 2026, at Pondok Indah Golf, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

Jakarta’s economic performance serves as an important foundation for these efforts. The capital’s economy grew by 5.21% annually, contributing 16.61% to the national economy. Jakarta’s investment realisation in 2025 reached Rp270.09 trillion, reflecting high investor confidence in the stability of the business climate in the capital.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government, according to Rano, has introduced various programmes to nurture entrepreneurship and expand job opportunities, including Jakarta Entrepreneur, job fairs, mobile training units, and Transjakarta Academy.

Rano hopes that the steps taken will enable Jakarta to join the ranks of the top 50 global cities by 2030.

“Let us maintain the spirit of synergy and innovation to realise Jakarta as a competitive, sustainable global city that brings prosperity to all its residents,” Rano concluded.
