Deputy Governor of Jambi Urges Pilgrims to Maintain Patience During Hajj
Jambi City (ANTARA) - The Deputy Governor of Jambi has urged prospective pilgrims to maintain patience and sincerity throughout their pilgrimage in Mecca.
“We pray that all pilgrims perform their pilgrimage with the intention of Lillahi Ta’ala,” said the Deputy Governor of Jambi, Abdullah Sani, when seeing off the BTH 21 group at the Jambi Hajj Dormitory on Saturday.
The Deputy Governor asked the pilgrims to understand the differences between the essential, obligatory, and recommended rituals of Hajj so that the pilgrimage is carried out perfectly.
For this reason, pilgrims are asked not to be ashamed to ask the guides if they have doubts about performing the essential, obligatory, and recommended rituals.
The Deputy Governor also reminded pilgrims not to easily give up and to always be grateful.
He ensured that the Jambi Provincial Government is always committed to supporting the smooth provision of services, from the dormitory, transportation, to the return trip.
“I remind pilgrims to follow the directions of the Hajj officers and make the most of their time to worship,” he concluded.
The Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for the Province of Jambi, Wahyudi Abdul Wahab, said that 443 prospective pilgrims from Batch 21 from the Province of Jambi were dispatched to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.
He added that the Jambi Provincial Government has provided great support for the implementation of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage by allocating funds for flight costs of IDR 42 billion.
According to him, if the amount of assistance is divided equally per pilgrim, then it is equivalent to a subsidy of approximately IDR 12 million per person. This support is intended to ease the burden on pilgrims so that they do not have to cover the cost themselves.
For this reason, he urged pilgrims to pray for the Governor, Deputy Governor, and all the people of Jambi so that they are given health and strength so that the development of the Province of Jambi can continue.
“The committee also recorded that the oldest pilgrim is 90 years old, named Nuhum Abu Tantri, while the youngest is Ujahid Darpes Fahidullah, aged 15, from the West Tanjung Jabung Regency,” he concluded.
