Deputy Governor of Jakarta Affirms Commitment to Public Services Through New Bus Stop in Jagakarsa
The Jakarta provincial government continues to strengthen access to integrated public transport.
This commitment has been realised in part through the inauguration of the Universitas Pancasila bus stop on Jalan Lenteng Agung Raya, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta.
Deputy Governor of Jakarta Rano Karno said the new stop was designed to support the mobility needs of all residents, including facilities that are friendly to people with disabilities and the elderly.
“The inauguration of this stop is part of efforts to improve the quality of public transport services that are inclusive, safe, comfortable and easily accessible to all members of society,” Rano said in an official statement on Tuesday (15/9).
The physical construction of the stop was the result of a strategic collaboration between the Jakarta provincial government, PT Transportasi Jakarta (Trans-Jakarta) and Universitas Pancasila.
“Trans-Jakarta carried out the physical construction of the stop, while Universitas Pancasila is encouraging its use by students and the wider academic community as part of efforts to shift towards public transport,” Rano explained.
Rano expressed hope that the facility would be maintained jointly and would become a model for inclusive urban transport integration.
“Hopefully this stop can be used and looked after together, and serve as an example of collaboration in delivering public transport services that are equitable and accessible,” he added.
During the inauguration, Rano also shared a nostalgic memory connected to the campus. The location of Universitas Pancasila holds historical significance for him, as it was once used as a filming location for the legendary television series Si Doel Anak Sekolahan in 1991, specifically for the graduation scene of the character Doel.
LIST OF ROUTES AND SERVICES AT THE STOP
The Universitas Pancasila stop currently serves five Trans-Jakarta and Mikrotrans routes to support passenger connectivity.
