Deputy Governor of DIY Sends Off 1,871 Warmindo Partner Mudik Participants
Yogyakarta — Deputy Governor of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Adipati Aryo (KGPAA) Paku Alam X flagged off 1,871 Warmindo (Indomie noodle shop) vendor partners participating in the 2026 Mudik Bersama (Group Homecoming) programme from the car park of Stadion Mandala Krida Yogyakarta.
“Mudik for Eid is not merely a journey home to one’s home region, but a social tradition that has taken root in the lives of Indonesian society,” said the Deputy Governor when sending off the Warmindo partners in Yogyakarta on Monday.
On behalf of the regional government, the Deputy Governor expressed appreciation to Indofood for its social initiative in facilitating Warmindo merchants in Yogyakarta to return home to reunite with their families ahead of Eid 2026.
“This programme for Warmindo merchants is a manifestation of social concern and also a tangible example of how the business world can contribute to strengthening solidarity and togetherness within society,” he said.
He expressed hope that the journey would be safe and smooth, and that participants would reunite with their families to celebrate Eid with joy and return to Yogyakarta with renewed vigour to continue their businesses and activities.
Yogyakarta Mayor Hasto Wardoyo stated that the thousands of Warmindo merchants from West Java undertaking the mudik journey demonstrated that Yogyakarta is capable of creating employment opportunities for citizens from other provinces.
“We are grateful, because at least approximately 34 buses with approximately 1,800 merchants from West Java earn their livelihood in Yogyakarta. Certainly this is very helpful and beneficial to be able to jointly enjoy free mudik travel to their respective destinations, hopefully arriving safely,” he said.
Head of Indofood CBP Noodle Division Branch Yogyakarta Devie Permana stated that Warmindo partner mudik participants dispatched in 2026 increased by two buses compared to 2025, growing from 32 buses to 34 buses.
“We are dispatching 34 buses with 1,871 mudik participants to Kuningan, Sumedang and Tasikmalaya. This is a form of appreciation, as during mudik season transport becomes a primary concern and may be somewhat difficult to obtain. We are appreciating them by providing free mudik transport,” he said.
