Improvement in education quality must begin in the classroom through an effective, adaptive learning process oriented towards the holistic development of students’ potential.

Palu (ANTARA) - The Deputy Governor of Central Sulawesi (Sulteng), Reny A Lamadjido, emphasised the importance of implementing deep learning as the primary strategy to enhance national education quality during the commemoration of National Education Day 2026.

“The deep learning approach is a priority programme of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to strengthen a more meaningful learning process, not merely knowledge transfer, but also building deep understanding and character among students,” said Reny A Lamadjido in Palu on Saturday.

She stated that improving education quality must start from the classroom through an effective, adaptive learning process oriented towards the holistic development of students’ potential.

In addition, she continued, to support the implementation of deep learning, the government has established several strategic policies, including the construction and revitalisation of educational units as well as the acceleration of learning digitalisation.

As well as improving learning quality through literacy and numeracy movements, and strengthening STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields and TKA (academic ability test).

Meanwhile, the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government has introduced the Berani Cerdas programme to strengthen equitable access to education in order to improve the quality of human resources (HR) in the province, which not only focuses on providing scholarships to university students but also encompasses various strategic interventions to comprehensively enhance education quality.

The Provincial Government of Central Sulawesi has disbursed school operational assistance of around Rp40 billion to 463 public and private schools. In addition, assistance for uniforms for students from underprivileged families has also been realised at around Rp6 billion.

“A series of these policies is expected to create a quality education ecosystem, as well as a strong foundation in preparing an excellent generation towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” she said.

She also extended congratulations on National Education Day 2026 and invited all stakeholders to strengthen cooperation in realising quality education for all.

“Happy National Education Day 2026. Let us strengthen cooperation to realise quality education for all towards a smart, advanced, and dignified Indonesia,” she said.
