Deputy Finance Minister: Economic Growth Serves as Foundation for Strengthening State Revenue

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara stated that the government continues to encourage economic growth as the foundation for strengthening state revenue.

In the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN), economic growth is targeted to reach 6 per cent, primarily driven by domestic consumption (projected to grow by 5.4 per cent), government consumption (5.6 per cent), investment (7 per cent), and exports (7.5 per cent).

“The challenge is how economic growth can generate state revenue,” Suahasil said in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday.

To achieve this goal, the government continues to strengthen tax administration, including through the utilisation of technology.

According to him, the improvement of tax administration through the Coretax system has contributed to the increase in tax revenue.

Based on State Budget data as of June 2026, state revenue reached Rp1,459.4 trillion, representing a 21.4 per cent growth compared to the same period in 2025.

Tax revenue was recorded at Rp1,187.8 trillion, supported by tax receipts of Rp1,035.7 trillion, or a 24.6 per cent increase, while customs and excise reached Rp145 trillion, growing by 3.4 per cent.
