Deputy Finance Minister: 2027 Draft State Budget Prioritises Improving Budget Quality

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara stated that the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN) is designed with a priority on improving budget quality.

The government is targeting a deficit of 2.4 per cent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the 2027 RAPBN. The Deputy Finance Minister noted that controlling the deficit is part of the government’s efforts to maintain fiscal health while simultaneously enhancing the quality of the State Budget (APBN).

“This is the figure we have designed to improve budget quality,” Suahasil said in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday.

State revenue in the 2027 RAPBN is targeted at Rp3,426 trillion, representing a 6.8 per cent growth from the 2026 APBN outlook of Rp3,208.1 trillion. This figure includes tax revenues, which are targeted to reach Rp2,908 trillion, an increase of 10.5 per cent from the 2026 APBN projection of Rp2,631.4 trillion.

Meanwhile, state expenditure in the 2027 RAPBN is planned at Rp4,097.2 trillion, or a 3.9 per cent growth from the 2026 APBN projection of Rp3,942.4 trillion.

The government will continue to encourage spending efficiency while ensuring that the priority needs of the community and the administration of government are met.

“This is where we continue to work on efficiency and also maintain priorities,” he added.

Transfers to Regions (TKD) are targeted at Rp735 trillion, up 5.5 per cent from the 2026 APBN projection of Rp696.9 trillion, with policies that also consider the capacity of local governments to adjust spending to support the effective implementation of regional development.

The Deputy Finance Minister stated that the government will continue to strengthen the quality and health of the APBN through fiscal management that is efficient, measurable, and maintains national priority programmes.
