The Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Yuliot, stated that the prices of non-subsidised fuels, such as Pertamax, follow the global oil market prices.

“For Pertamax, the principle is that it follows the market price,” Yuliot said when met after The 12th IndoEBTKE ConEx 2026 held in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Yuliot explained that Pertamina utilises a specific formula to calculate non-subsidised fuel prices, which involves adding a profit margin to the cost of goods sold (BPP).

“We look at the average price of the global oil market. From that average price, we determine Pertamina’s cost of goods sold, and then add a margin,” Yuliot added.

Fuel prices underwent changes for several products on 1 September 2026. Pertamina announced price increases for several non-subsidised fuels, namely Dexlite, Pertamina Dex, Pertamax Turbo, and Pertamax Green.

In the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek), the price of Dexlite (CN 51) rose to Rp23,700 per litre from 1 September, up from Rp19,700 per litre. The price for Pertamina Dex (CN 53) also increased from Rp21,150 per litre to Rp25,200 per litre starting 1 September 2026.

Furthermore, the price of Pertamax Turbo increased from Rp18,300 per litre in August to Rp19,600 per litre effective 1 September 2026, while Pertamax Green 95 rose from Rp16,600 per litre to Rp19,150 per litre, effective 2 September 2026.

Meanwhile, the price of Pertamax has remained at the level of Rp15,950 per litre since 1 August 2026. Prices for subsidised and assigned fuels remain unchanged, with Pertalite at Rp10,000 per litre and Biosolar at Rp6,800 per litre.
