Deputy Coordinating Minister Otto Urges Three Ministries to Follow Up BPK Recommendations

Deputy Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections (Wamenko Kumham Imipas) Otto Hasibuan has requested three ministries under his coordination to follow up on recommendations from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) RI. Otto emphasised that the follow-up on the BPK’s recommendations regarding the 2025 Financial Reports must be completed within a maximum of 60 days in accordance with statutory regulations. Representing the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections during the handover of the BPK RI Audit Result Report, monitored online in Jakarta on Monday, Otto asked Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai, and Minister of Immigration and Corrections to use every BPK finding and recommendation as a basis for improving governance, administration, and budget management efficiency. “So that these audit notes do not merely become normative documents, I emphasise several joint commitments that must be carried out. First, accelerate the follow-up of BPK recommendations. Immediately prepare an action plan for resolving the BPK recommendations with clear time targets,” said Otto. He stressed that all audit recommendations must be resolved in accordance with statutory regulations, within a maximum period of 60 days after the report is received. In addition to accelerating the follow-up of recommendations, Otto also requested the ministries to strengthen the Government Internal Control System (SPIP) by optimising the role of the inspectorate as an early warning system against potential irregularities in state financial management. “Carry out risk mitigation from the planning stage to budget execution,” he said. According to Otto, strengthening internal controls is an important step to prevent recurring issues while improving the quality of accountable financial governance. He stated that credible budget management is the foundation for building public trust in the government, while supporting the execution of duties in the fields of law, human rights, immigration, and corrections. “Only with credible budget accountability can we enforce the law fairly, advance human rights meaningfully, and provide modern immigration and correctional services,” said Otto.
