Deputy Coordinating Minister Hanif Ready to Strengthen National Food Security Programme
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Hanif Faisol Nurofiq stated that his appointment is the result of careful consideration by President Prabowo Subianto to strengthen the implementation of national strategic programmes in the food sector.
According to him, the deputy coordinating minister position will be focused on fully supporting the steps of Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan in realising the government’s flagship programmes.
“Our placement under Mr Coordinating Minister will fully support Mr Coordinating Minister’s steps in realising the programmes that are President Prabowo’s flagship initiatives,” Hanif said at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.
He affirmed that he would start working immediately after the inauguration, prioritising the acceleration of various strategic agendas, including the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme and policies to strengthen national food security.
Hanif said his side would soon seek direct guidance from the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs regarding the steps that need to be prioritised so that government programmes can run effectively.
Through hard work and solid coordination, he said, it is hoped that the best contribution can be made in maintaining food stability while supporting public welfare.
“Tomorrow we will already start working; everything from MBG and onwards we will address, and we will seek guidance from Mr Coordinating Minister on what steps we should take,” he said.
President Prabowo Subianto has just inaugurated Hanif Faisol Nurofiq as Deputy Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs for the remainder of the 2024-2029 term at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.
Hanif’s inauguration was stipulated in Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia (Keppres) Number 51 P of 2026 on the Dismissal and Appointment of Deputy State Coordinating Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 Period, which was signed by President Prabowo in Jakarta on 27 April 2026.
