Lieutenant General Richard Tampubolon, Deputy Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and Deputy Chair of the Task Force for Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) Following Natural Disasters, accompanied by Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo, conducted an inspection of Central Tapanuli (Tapteng), North Sumatra. They reviewed the completion of temporary housing (huntara) for disaster-affected residents.

During the visit, the two officials inspected river normalisation work and progress on embankment and sabo-dam construction to prevent the recurrence of flooding that had previously impacted communities in Tukka District, Central Tapanuli Regency.

Tampubolon stated that the inspection aimed to ensure accelerated progress on construction, rehabilitation, and recovery of infrastructure following the disaster, including completion of temporary housing and preparation of basic services before relocation of affected residents.

“The TNI is present alongside all stakeholders throughout all phases of disaster management, from emergency response, transitional emergency phases, to recovery, rehabilitation, and reconstruction,” said Tampubolon on Friday (27 February 2026).

He noted that the TNI is committed to overseeing all phases of post-disaster management in an integrated and coordinated manner, whilst strengthening cross-sector cooperation to ensure recovery proceeds rapidly, effectively, and sustainably.

“This support includes civilian evacuation, distribution of logistical aid, healthcare provision, and restoration of basic infrastructure to accelerate the normalisation of community life,” he said.

The working visit continued with inspection of Lubuk Ampolu Badiri Bridge and construction of the Hajj Hostel Temporary Housing in Parjalihotan Village, Pinang Sori District, Central Tapanuli Regency, as part of efforts to accelerate recovery of disaster-affected areas.
