Jakarta - Deputy Police Chief Komjen Dedi Prasetyo emphasised the importance of the O2H concept (brain, muscle, and conscience) in implementing law enforcement within the Indonesian National Police (Polri).

“Polri must work by involving O2H, namely brain, muscle, and especially the heart in legal conscience,” said Dedi when closing the Technical Work Meeting (Rakernis) of the Polri Criminal Investigation Directorate for 2026, on Friday (8/5/2026), quoted from a press release.

According to him, law enforcement cannot rely solely on the technical abilities and firmness of the apparatus, but must also be accompanied by empathy, justice, and sensitivity to societal conditions.

Dedi stated that Polri’s law enforcement must be able to present three main aspects, namely legal certainty, justice, and usefulness for the community.

“Thank you and appreciation to all ranks of the Polri Criminal Investigation Directorate for carrying out law enforcement duties, protection, guidance, and service to the community that have been carried out well,” said the Deputy Police Chief.

He assessed that various achievements of the Polri Criminal Investigation Directorate in the regions also contribute to maintaining national security stability while supporting the government’s Asta Cita programme.

According to Dedi, President Prabowo Subianto also appreciates Polri’s contribution in supporting national strategic programmes, including food security, energy security, and other government priority programmes.

Therefore, he requested that the quality of services and internal supervision be strengthened up to the Police Sector (Polsek) level as the frontline of community services.

“When Police Resorts (Polres) and Police Sectors (Polsek) face obstacles, the Regional Police (Polda) must be present to provide assistance. Likewise, when the Regional Police faces hurdles, the National Police Headquarters (Mabes Polri) is responsible for providing support,” emphasised the Deputy Police Chief.

According to him, the caseload handled by investigators is currently quite high, averaging 25 to 50 cases per year.

Therefore, Bareskrim Polri continues to strive to improve the quality and quantity of investigators.

Ahead of Police Day, Dedi asked all ranks of the Polri Criminal Investigation Directorate to maintain achievements, strengthen professionalism, and minimise all forms of violations in all work units.

“The quality of law enforcement and services to the community must continue to be strengthened so that the presence of Polri is truly felt to be beneficial by the community,” he said.
