Deputy Chief of Army Staff provides motivation to all territorial development unit commanders

Jakarta — The Deputy Chief of the Indonesian Army General Staff (Wakasad) Lieutenant General Muhammad Saleh Mustafa delivered motivation and guidance to the Commanders of Territorial Development Infantry Brigades (Brigif TP) and Territorial Development Infantry Battalions (Yonif TP) to carry out their duties with enthusiasm in line with expectations.

According to an official press statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, the motivational address took place in the A.H. Nasution Hall at Army Headquarters (Mabesad) in Jakarta on Friday (27 February).

In his remarks, Saleh emphasised the importance of balancing combat capability with territorial development work when serving as a Territorial Development Battalion. He reminded commanders that the success of Territorial Development units depends significantly on strong synergy with territorial officials, particularly village military coordinators (Babinsa).

“Your basic unit is a combat unit, but when territorial development is handled well, what becomes excellent is the Battalion TP, while the District Military Command’s strength lies in the Babinsa personnel, who maintain stability in remote areas. That is why your partners are the babinsa to help your battalion,” Saleh stated.

According to him, future task challenges require adaptive and innovative leadership capable of managing resources effectively. Through these directives, the Brigif TP and Yonif TP are expected to become increasingly professional, responsive, and able to make meaningful contributions to regional stability and welfare.
