Former leaders of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, Sony Sonjaya, and Lodewyk Pusung, have been named as suspects in a corruption case related to the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program. Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Ahmad Sahroni, has called for the three to be severely punished as a deterrent.

“Regarding the punishment, I believe it should be a punishment that will deter others, because this is a long-term project that must always be protected from corruption,” Sahroni told reporters on Thursday (June 4, 2026).

He also urged law enforcement not to stop at the three former BGN leaders. He asked the Attorney General’s Office to investigate the case thoroughly, to its roots.

“I agree and fully support the thorough investigation of the corruption case at the BGN and the prosecution of all those involved. From the chairman, to the leaders, and if necessary, to the operators and unscrupulous vendors,” he said.

The Deputy Treasurer of the NasDem DPP believes that the investigation of this case will be easier because it starts from the top. “The prosecutor’s move to take action against corruption from the top is a very good step, so it will also be easier to investigate those below,” he said.

Dadan and Others Detained by the Attorney General’s Office

As is known, Dadan, Sony, and Lodewyk have been named as suspects and detained by the Attorney General’s Office. They are suspected of committing irregularities in the national priority program, MBG, which had a budget of IDR 85.27 trillion in 2025 and IDR 268 trillion in 2026.

The modus operandi used included appointing foundations affiliated with them as partners of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG).

“The form of affiliation is that these foundations can be said to belong to, or are owned through other people, or are controlled by the suspects,” said the Director of Investigation (Dirdik) at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General’s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, in a press conference at the Attorney General’s Office.

In addition to the issue of foundations, the Attorney General’s Office has detected intervention by the suspects in the procurement of goods and services that did not meet actual needs and involved price markups. Syarief said that all of these procurements had been realized.

The goods included in this corruption case include the procurement of 21,801 electric motorcycles worth approximately IDR 1 trillion, 32,000 pairs of shoes, 31,000 tablets, and 5,400 75-inch televisions.

“The procurement of goods and services has all been realized. Everything has been realized,” Syarief concluded.

As a result of their actions, Syarief said that there had been a loss to state finances. The three were immediately named as suspects and detained at the Salemba Branch of the Attorney General’s Office and the South Jakarta District Attorney’s Office.
