Jakarta – Deputy Chair of House Commission VIII, Abidin Fikri, has commended the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) for swiftly distributing Teacher Professional Allowances (TPG) to madrasah teachers ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

This action responds to House Commission VIII’s insistence that educators’ welfare rights be fulfilled on schedule, avoiding social unrest before the Eid holiday.

Abidin Fikri stated that the TPG disbursement represents proof of government commitment to maintaining the welfare of approximately 405,438 madrasah teachers through accelerated Simpatika data verification.

“Timely payment before Eid al-Fitr demonstrates Kemenag’s responsiveness to the aspirations of the House and madrasah teachers who have long depended on low allowances,” Abidin Fikri said in a written statement on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.

According to Abidin, this success not only alleviates the financial burden on teachers ahead of the holiday but also strengthens public confidence in state budget management in the religious education sector. He urged Kemenag to maintain this momentum for the next disbursement phase, in line with House Commission VIII’s oversight.

Abidin Fikri further explained that the Teacher Professional Allowances from the Ministry of Religious Affairs for 2026 are provided not only to madrasah and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, but also to Christian, Catholic, Hindu, and Buddhist religious education teachers.

For PAI teachers, 209,324 individuals are recorded as receiving TPG, including 91,028 PAI teachers and supervisors who completed Teacher Professional Education (PPG) in 2025. For Christian Religious Education teachers, 5,606 non-civil servant teachers and 9,893 teachers graduating from PPG 2025 also receive TPG.

For Catholic Religious Education teachers, there are 12,400 TPG recipients consisting of 8,568 civil servant teachers and 3,832 non-civil servant teachers, including 5,972 teachers who graduated from PPG 2025.

“House Commission VIII will continue to conduct careful oversight of the development of TPG payments for religious and madrasah education teachers by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, to ensure timely distribution, particularly ahead of Eid al-Fitr,” he asserted.
