Deputy Chair of DPR Commission VI Andre Rosiade has urged the public not to worry or engage in panic buying in response to fuel availability. He stated that the government has firmly decided not to raise prices for either non-subsidised or subsidised fuels.

“First, we from DPR Commission VI appreciate the government’s steps under President Prabowo, which listen to public aspirations and side with the people by ensuring no fuel price increase on 1 April,” said Andre Rosiade at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

Andre then highlighted several countries that have raised fuel prices following the conflict in the Middle East. Even some Southeast Asian countries have increased fuel prices.

“So once again, we greatly appreciate this, especially since we all know that 85 countries around the world have raised fuel prices, and even our neighbours in Southeast Asia have done so,” said Andre.

“There are 6 to 7 neighbouring countries that have raised fuel prices, but Indonesia has not. There is no adjustment,” he added.

Andre hopes the public will not worry to the point of queuing en masse at petrol stations. Andre Rosiade mentioned that the government has new oil sources.

“So the public need not worry that there is no need to queue at various petrol stations because first, there is no increase or adjustment,” said Andre.

“Second, the stock is secure and the government already has new ways and new oil sources, so the public need not worry that Indonesia’s fuel stock is very, very secure. So I urge all Indonesian people to remain calm that there is no increase and our stock is very, very secure,” he added.
