Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono Reports to Jokowi in Solo on Food Self-Sufficiency
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, SOLO – Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono reported on the development of the national agricultural sector to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, during a visit to his residence in the Sumber area, Solo City, Central Java. Sudaryono stated that the meeting discussed the development of the national agricultural sector as well as the importance of continuity in development to maintain food security. Of course, he also discussed public welfare related to the national agricultural programme. “I also reported to Mr Jokowi that self-sufficiency has been achieved in 2025 and we will continue it,” said the former aide to President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto in Solo City on Friday night (9/5/2026) WIB. Sudaryono stated that the government’s success is marked by the cessation of rice imports and the increasing welfare of farmers. The government, he added, has also raised the price of unmilled rice to Rp 6,500 per kilogram to provide better economic value for farmers.
