Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono has spoken out regarding concerns over the establishment of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI). He confirmed coordination with Danantara, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto.
“PT DSI will be a managing and supervising company operating transparently and accountably, and it will not seek profit. Let me repeat: no profit,” Sudaryono stated at the Agriculture Ministry in Jakarta on Friday (29 May).
He assured that legitimate business operators would not be affected, noting the single-export channel through PT DSI aims to minimise state losses from suspected malpractices in natural resource exports.
“The objective is not to profit from DSI, but to regulate those who are compliant and bring order to those who are not. Practices such as under-invoicing, under-pricing, or transfer pricing can be eradicated, ensuring orderly management, fair economic justice, and proper state revenue collection through the single-export channel,” he added.
Sudaryono also stated PT DSI will have a transition period for the single-export channel, starting 1 June to 31 August 2026 with a three-month evaluation phase, followed by full implementation from 1 January 2027.
“With these phased steps, we hope concerns, particularly among downstream palm oil industry players such as refineries and exporters, will be alleviated,” he said.
He urged refinery and export operators to continue transactions based on KPBN price benchmarks, avoiding withdrawals from fair market prices.
“KPBN price formation will reference global CPO prices and other factors. We request downstream palm oil players to use KPBN as the benchmark and avoid withdrawals. Large purchases at good prices are expected, as international prices and demand volumes remain stable, ensuring positive ripple effects on palm kernel shells and fair purchases of fresh fruit bunches at the farmer level,” he stressed.
Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Commission XI, Mukhamad Misbakhun, assessed that PT Danantara (DSI) is strategic for strengthening natural resource export governance and curbing under-invoicing practices that harm the state.
