Manado (ANTARA) – Bonivasius Prasetya Ichtiarto, Deputy for Population Control at the Ministry of Population and Family Development/BKKBN, said stronger population development requires accurate, integrated and easily accessible data, including at village and urban ward level.

“Complete and relevant data are an important basis for understanding local conditions and identifying community needs,” Bonivasius said on Friday during a visit to the Kawangunan Quality Family Village in Pangolombian urban ward, Tomohon.

Accurate, integrated and accessible data are also essential for drawing up population development programmes that suit the characteristics of each region.

Bonivasius also encouraged the digitalisation of population data management at Quality Family Villages.

He said digitalising the data would support the stronger role of Quality Family Villages as sites for integrating family and population development programmes, as well as implementing the Population Development Roadmap (PJPK).

“With better data management and cross-sector collaboration, Quality Family Villages are expected to support more targeted development planning while optimising the potential of the demographic dividend for people’s welfare,” he added.

During the visit, the deputy reviewed population data covering various key development indicators at urban ward level.

Bonivasius was accompanied by Denny Mangala, Assistant I of North Sulawesi Province and acting head of the Population and Civil Registration and Family Planning Office; Ferdinand EM Mewengkang, the governor’s special staff co-ordinator; and Jeanny Yola Winokan, head of the BKKBN representative office in North Sulawesi, along with other invitees.
