A man identified as IKK (37) in Tenganan Village, Manggis District, Karangasem, Bali, was found dead by hanging on Wednesday (4 March 2026). IKK is believed to have been suffering from depression. The incident was first known at around 05:00 WITA by the victim’s father, I Wayan C, who found the room of his son dark, whereas the light had previously not been switched off. Fearing something suspicious, the father then opened his son’s room to check his condition. After the light was turned on, it turned out that IKK was already hanging from a wooden bar in his bedroom. Seeing this, Wayan C immediately shouted for help to nearby residents and reported the incident to the police. Shortly thereafter, Manggis Police personnel together with medical teams arrived at the scene and immediately lowered IKK for an external examination. From the examination, there were no signs of violence on IKK’s body, so it was determined that he died purely from hanging. The preliminary assumption is that the victim ended his life due to depression. Since suffering a spinal fracture from a fall, the victim could no longer work as before. The victim’s family said they had come to terms with it and accepted it as misfortune, and therefore declined an autopsy.
