Depraved! Islamic Boarding School Leader and Son Allegedly Abuse Female Students in Bogor
A leader of an Islamic boarding school (ponpes) in Tajurhalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, is suspected of sexually abusing several female students (santriwati). The perpetrator, a man with the initials N alias Buya, has now been named a suspect.
Buya was reported by a number of his victims. The alleged abuse of the female students reportedly occurred from 2019 within the boarding school environment where Buya taught.
Another victim also reported Buya’s son, a man with the initials S. S is suspected of having abused female students since 2024.
News of the alleged abuse spread within the boarding school community. Victims then shared information with other victims because they had been abused by S.
When asked for confirmation, the Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Depok Metro Police, AKP Tamar, confirmed the case. So far, the police have received three reports related to the abuse committed by Buya and S.
‘For now, there are only three official reports. Information suggests there are more, but those who have filed official reports are three,’ said Tamar when contacted by journalists on Wednesday (1/6/2026).
AKP Tamar stated that his party has named Buya as a suspect in the case. N has also been detained at the Bojonggede Police Station.
‘So the other one, the father (N), has been detained. He has been named a suspect and detained,’ added Tamar.
Meanwhile, Buya’s son, a man with the initials S, was not detained because the maximum penalty is under five years in prison. However, Tamar assured that the legal process against S is still proceeding.
‘As for S, because the TPKS Law number 6A carries a maximum penalty of only four years, he is not detained. The process is still ongoing,’ he concluded.
