Depraved Grandfather in Bogor Rapes Teenager Using Massage Ruse
A 15-year-old girl in Rancabungur District, Bogor, West Java, became a victim of rape and is now pregnant. After investigation, the perpetrator was identified as the victim’s neighbour, a 70-year-old man with the initials DUM.
Rancabungur Police Chief Ipda Yudhi Widhiana said the suspect DUM was arrested on Monday night (10/8/2026). The suspect has been taken to the Bogor Police headquarters.
“Alhamdulillah, we have secured him and taken him to the police headquarters because cases involving children require special handling. From the beginning, we have accompanied the report to the police headquarters, including last night when we secured him together with other personnel. Last night he was immediately taken to the police headquarters,” Yudhi told reporters on Tuesday (11/8).
Yudhi said the incident came to light after the family became suspicious of changes in the victim’s body shape. The victim’s condition was confirmed as pregnancy after the family took her to a community health centre.
“Initially, her aunt became suspicious because there was a change in the victim’s body shape, it seemed somewhat different. Because of that suspicion, she was taken to the community health centre. There she was examined, and the result was that she tested positive for pregnancy,” Yudhi said.
“After receiving that information, we invited the sub-district officials to the location, we invited IPSM (Community Social Workers Association), because this involves a child and a female as well. We met with her aunt. Then, we coordinated with the PPA (Women and Children Protection Unit), and we directed the victim and her family to file a report with the PPA at the Bogor Police headquarters,” he continued.
Police arrested the grandfather with the initials DUM (70) after he raped a 15-year-old teenager until she became pregnant. The suspect has now been named a suspect.
“He has been named a suspect. The articles applied are 473 and 415 of the new Criminal Code,” said Head of the PPA/PPO Unit at Bogor Police, AKP Silfi Adi Putri, on Wednesday (12/8/2026).
Silfi said that as a result of his depraved actions, the suspect faces a sentence of 15 years in prison. The suspect has also been detained.
“Yes, that is correct (the threat of 15 years in prison). He was placed in detention last night,” she said.
Head of the PPA/PPO Unit at Bogor Police, AKP Silfi Adi Putri, said DUM’s depraved actions were first carried out in mid-2025. The abuse continued until the end of 2025.
“Yes, more than once. According to his statement, the first time was in the middle of last year. The last time was at the end of last year. And if you count it, it matches the current month of her pregnancy,” Silfi told reporters on Wednesday (12/8/2026).
Silfi said the victim has now received psychological treatment. The police have made referrals to various parties to help restore the victim’s condition.
“Yes, we have provided a psychologist referral, to the UPT (Technical Implementation Unit), we have also applied for a social worker assessment. And we have applied to LPSK (Witness and Victim Protection Agency) as well,” she said.
AKP Silfi revealed the suspect’s modus operandi in carrying out his depraved actions. The suspect reportedly asked the victim’s mother for help to massage him because the victim’s mother is a masseuse, but DUM complained of pain because the massage was not comfortable enough.
“The victim has a mother. Her mother is a traditional masseuse. The suspect liked to ask the mother for massages. One day, the mother was asked to massage him, but he said it hurt and that she could not do it properly,” Silfi said on Wednesday (12/8/2026).
Silfi then explained that the victim was told to replace her mother in massaging the suspect. It was at that moment that the suspect first carried out his depraved actions against the victim.
“The child was told to massage him. It was during that massage that the act was first carried out,” she added.
