Depok City Government, through the Depok Transportation Department, is preparing to replace the AC D10A angkot with an electric-based fleet, which is claimed to be more environmentally friendly and cheaper in fares. Head of the Transportation Division of Depok Transportation Department, Aan Syurahman, stated that this step is part of improving the quality of public transportation services in Depok City. “The AC D10A angkot that previously operated will be replaced with a better electric-based or go-green fleet, with comfortable facilities like air-conditioned ones remaining,” said Aan on Monday (27/4/2026), quoted from the official Depok City Government website. According to him, the use of electric vehicles not only brings more modern services but also has the potential to reduce operational costs, thus making fares more affordable for passengers. This step is expected to encourage the public to switch from private vehicles to more environmentally friendly public transportation. So far, the D10A route serves the Depok Terminal–Jatijajar Terminal route via Margonda Raya Road, Kartini Road, Grand Depok City (GDC), Depok Town Square, Abdul Gani, to Cilodong (return trip). The current AC D10A angkot fare is Rp 7,000 for general passengers and Rp 3,000 for students. Currently, the preparation process for the replacement fleet is still ongoing. The government urges the public to wait until the service resumes operation. “We ask the public to be patient. The Depok City Government continues to strive to provide better, comfortable, environmentally friendly, and affordable public transportation services,” said Aan. The Transportation Department assures that this fleet replacement is aimed at improving services, including plans for cheaper fares in line with the use of electric vehicles.
