Depok's AC Angkot to be Replaced with Electric Angkot

DEPOK, KOMPAS.com - Depok’s AC angkot, or D10A, brings unwelcome news as it must cease operations on 2 May 2026. In connection with this, the Depok City Government (Pemkot) through the Transportation Department (Dishub) is reportedly preparing a replacement for the D10A angkot with electric angkots. The Head of the Transportation Division of Depok City’s Dishub, Aan Syurahman, explained that this operational replacement is part of efforts to improve the quality of public transportation services for the community. “The AC D10A angkot that previously operated will be replaced by a better fleet based on electricity or go green, with comfortable facilities remaining the same, such as air-conditioned,” he stated, quoted from an official statement, Thursday (30/4/2026). Aan also said that the use of electric vehicles as angkots is expected not only to provide more modern and environmentally friendly services but also to impact fare reductions for the community. Dishub also assured that the service route will not change, so the community can still use the service as before. “We ask the community to be patient. The Depok City Government continues to strive to provide better, comfortable, environmentally friendly, and affordable public transportation services so that more people switch to public transport,” he said.
