Depok's AC Angkot Service to Cease Operations on 2 May 2026
Depok - The air-conditioned city transport service (angkot), which was once a point of pride for Depok city upon its launch, is reported to cease operations on 2 May 2026. This information was announced via social media by PT Comuter Anak Bangsa (CAB). Dodi, the Field Coordinator of PT CAB, confirmed that the AC angkot service, or D10A route, will stop in a few days’ time. This comes after a fare increase that has led to a slight drop in passengers. “This angkot is purely private. So, we’re not like Biskita, which receives government subsidies. The burden now is due to fewer passengers. However, the drop isn’t significant. The operational costs are heavy,” he said when met by Kompas.com at Jatijajar Terminal on Wednesday (29/4/2026). Although passenger numbers are not as high as at the start, the angkots using Wuling Confero S vehicles still carry many passengers to this day, especially during morning and evening rush hours. This allows public transport users to avoid multiple fares for changing vehicles. In fact, this AC angkot has become a popular choice for those heading to or from Depok and Depok Baru KRL stations. On the other hand, if fares continue to rise to cover operations, there are concerns that passengers will decrease further. Therefore, he hopes that the AC angkot service can also receive assistance from the Depok city government to continue.
