Depok Satpol PP Catalogues Hundreds of Unlicensed Buildings Along Jalan Raya Bogor

The Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) of Depok City conducted a large-scale inventory of hundreds of buildings suspected of lacking permits along Jalan Raya Bogor on Monday (29/6/2026). The data collection swept the area from the Cibinong border in Bogor Regency to Tugu Pal Subdistrict in Cimanggis District, which borders East Jakarta. In carrying out this task, Satpol PP collaborated with the Depok City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP). Joint officers were deployed to the location to match the physical condition of the buildings with the licensing data recorded in the local government system. The Head of the Peace, Public Order, and Escort Security Division (Trantibum Pamwal) of the Depok City Satpol PP, Agus Muhammad, stressed that buildings proven to lack permits would face strict sanctions. ‘Buildings that do not have permits will be subject to sanctions in the form of demolition,’ said Agus on Monday (29/6). The inventory activity was also accompanied by the delivery of Warning Letters (SP) to the building owners. Agus revealed that the letters served on Monday had already reached the third warning stage. If this warning continues to be ignored, the government will issue a Demolition Order (SPB) followed by forced execution by officers. In addition to demolition, owners of illegal buildings also face heavy financial sanctions. Based on the Building Law, spatial planning violators or unlicensed buildings can be subject to administrative fines. ‘If the demolition is carried out by the local government, violators can be subject to an administrative fine of up to 10 per cent of the property value,’ Agus asserted. Based on preliminary data, the number of unlicensed buildings along the main route reaches hundreds of units. This enforcement action is claimed to be an effort to uphold local regulations (Perda) while restoring the function of public facilities that have been disrupted by the presence of illegal structures. Agus added that the entire enforcement process is carried out based on technical recommendations (rekomtek) from the agency responsible for spatial planning. This ensures that Satpol PP operates in accordance with legal procedures and does not carry out demolitions unilaterally without a strong technical basis.
