Depok Relies on Cross-Sector Synergy to Accelerate Development
Development in the city of Depok is no longer solely dependent on the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD). Synergy between the city government, provincial government, and the private sector is now key to accelerating development and expanding benefits for the community.
This was stated by Pradi Supriatna, Chairman of the Depok Gerindra DPC and a member of the West Java DPRD, after attending the plenary session for the 27th Anniversary of Depok City at the Depok City DPRD Building on Thursday (23/4/2026).
He assessed that the involvement of various parties in development indicates a strong collective commitment to building the region.
According to Pradi, the presence of diverse elements at the plenary session, from Forkopimda, local government, community figures, to other stakeholders, reflects the solidity and spirit of collaboration that has been established.
“Almost all stakeholders were present. This shows that the spirit of cooperation in building Depok is truly strong,” he said. He also assessed that the direction of development policies currently being implemented by the Depok City Government is becoming more inclusive.
This is reflected in various programmes that directly address community needs, such as optimising public spaces, implementing car-free days, improving health services, and strengthening the education sector through pilot free private schools.
Pradi emphasised that cross-sector collaboration is an important factor in accelerating development. Support from the provincial APBD combined with private sector involvement is seen as capable of delivering broader impacts for the community.
“Some programmes are supported by the provincial APBD, others involve the private sector. This makes development run faster and the benefits more felt,” he said.
Furthermore, he mentioned several strategic programmes currently underway, such as road infrastructure development, underpasses, and waste management based on cross-regional cooperation.
In addition, the unworthy housing assistance programme (RTLH) in Sukmajaya and Cimanggis areas also serves as a concrete example of multi-party collaboration. With these various achievements, he is optimistic that Depok City’s development will become stronger if the spirit of collaboration is maintained.
“What is evident today is the spirit of building together. This collaboration must be maintained so that its benefits are increasingly widely felt by the community,” he said.
