Depok Public Works Department to Repair Damaged Bridge Foundation

The foundation of a bridge in Kampung Pulo, Cipayung, Depok, is damaged. The Depok Public Works and Spatial Planning Department has promised to repair the bridge soon.

“Hopefully, it will be followed up soon,” said the Acting Head of the Depok Public Works and Spatial Planning Department, Yodi Joko, when contacted by detikcom on Thursday (26/2/2026).

He said that the bridge repair is currently in the planning stage for emergency expenditure (BTT).

“It is currently in the planning stage for urgent needs (BTT). Please pray for and support us,” he said.

As observed by detikcom on Tuesday (24/2) at 08.00 WIB, part of the bridge was closed off with wood and bamboo. This was done to prevent cars from crossing the bridge.

The bridge can still be crossed by motorcycles in turns. In addition, the foundation on one side of the bridge has shifted.

The bridge is one of the access points for residents of Cipayung to Bedahan in Sawangan, Depok, as well as Bojonggede and Tajur Halang, Bogor, who want to go to Citayam Station. The bridge is often filled with vehicles during rush hour in the morning and evening.

A resident who often crosses the bridge, Laras, hopes that the local government will repair the bridge soon. She is worried that the bridge will collapse while residents are crossing or that they will be stuck in traffic on it.

“I hope it will be repaired soon. I’m also afraid that it’s the rainy season now, and the river water is quite strong. If it is exposed to water continuously, I’m afraid it will collapse when someone is crossing,” she said.

According to her, this has been happening since January 2026. She said that the condition of the bridge, which cannot be fully crossed, makes it difficult for residents.

“It’s also difficult to pass when it’s this narrow. Even normally, it’s often congested,” she said.
