Depok Ojol Driver Duped by Passenger Offline, Motorcycle Stolen

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, at 11:30 WIB, in Sukatani, Tapos, Depok. Initially, the suspect alighted from public transport and approached the victim who was loitering on Jalan Mekarsari. The suspect asked the victim to provide a ride without going through the application. The victim agreed and transported the suspect to Jalan Dongkal, Sukatani, Depok. “The victim and the suspect briefly stopped at a kiosk. Not long after, someone believed to be the suspect’s friend approached them and continued talking with the suspect,” said Cimanggis Police Chief Kompol Jupriono in a statement on Thursday, 21 May. The victim and the suspect then left not far from the stopping point. The suspect distracted the victim by asking him to pick flowers along the roadside as a medicine. “(The suspect) showed the victim to take several flowers along the roadside near a grave as medicine,” he explained. After that, the suspect gave the victim Rp 50,000 to buy a drink. At that moment, the suspect took the victim’s motorcycle and left the scene. “After that the suspect handed Rp 50,000 to the victim to buy a drink. The victim was left near the location,” he added. As a result, the victim suffered a loss of one motorcycle. Police have checked the crime scene; the case is under investigation.
