Depok Neighbour Terror Case Escalates to Investigation, Police to Conduct Psychological Test

The case of neighbour terror in Depok has been escalated to the investigation stage. Police will conduct a psychological test on the alleged perpetrator.

Metro Depok Police spokesperson AKP Hendra Kurniawan stated that the status was upgraded to investigation on 22 July, and investigators will now examine witnesses and arrange for a psychological assessment.

“According to information from his parents, the reported individual sometimes has difficulty controlling his emotions. He tends to be explosive,” Hendra told reporters on Wednesday.

The case was upgraded after police examined the alleged perpetrator on Monday. Investigators are applying Article 521 of the Criminal Code concerning vandalism and/or Article 448 concerning unpleasant acts.

The dispute was reportedly triggered when the victim allegedly used harsh language and played loud music, as the houses are situated close together.
