The suspect in a mutilation case in Cipayung, Depok, Saepul (26), was seen carrying medication during a crime scene reconstruction. A police officer stated that the suspect is required to take the medication due to a medical condition.

“We suspect, based on our examination, he suffers from HIV,” said the Head of Unit 1 of the Polda Metro Jaya Resmob Sub-Directorate, Kompol Dimitri Mahendra, to journalists in Cipayung, Depok, on Tuesday (11/8/2026). Dimitri explained that this condition requires Saepul to routinely consume and carry his medication. “Yes, he is required to carry it,” he stated.

Based on observations at the location, Saepul was seen carrying the medication even though both his hands were bound with cable ties. The box of medication Saepul was carrying was labelled ‘Telado’.

The Sub-Directorate of Resmob of the Polda Metro Jaya held a reconstruction to uncover the facts and sequence of events in the premeditated murder committed by Saepul. During the reconstruction, Saepul re-enacted a total of 51 scenes. Kompol Dimitri explained that Saepul acted out 51 scenes, which were divided into 30 main scenes. The re-enactment covered the moments when Saepul searched for the victim, his intention to take possession of the victim’s belongings, and the murder itself.

“From the results of this reconstruction, we carried out approximately 30 main scenes. These cover the moment the perpetrator searched for the victim, then the emergence of the intention to obtain the victim’s belongings, up to the perpetrator committing the murder, mutilation, and disposal of the victim’s body parts,” he said. “Each of the 30 main scenes we reconstructed with the perpetrator and witnesses has sub-scenes, bringing the total to approximately 51 scenes,” he added.

Dimitri added that the crucial scenes in the re-enactment were the stabbing, the dismemberment of the body, and the disposal of the victim’s remains. “The scene where the perpetrator stabs the victim is in scene 15. Then, the scene where the perpetrator mutilates the victim’s body parts is in scene 17. Furthermore, the scene where the perpetrator disposes of the upper body is in scene 22, and scene 24 is when the perpetrator disposes of the legs,” he said. For his heinous acts, Saepul is charged under Article 458 paragraph (2) and/or Article 459, and/or Article 469 paragraph (2), and/or Article 479 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code (KUHP).
