The Sub-Directorate of Violent Crimes (Resmob) of the Metro Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Directorate moved swiftly to arrest the perpetrator of a mutilation case involving a man whose body was found on vacant land in Pancoran Mas, Depok City, West Java. The suspect was arrested while fleeing to Pandeglang, Banten. “The suspect was arrested by the Metro Jaya Police Resmob Sub-Directorate team on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, at 04.15 WIB in Pandeglang, Banten, while attempting to escape,” said Unit 1 Head of the Metro Jaya Police Resmob Sub-Directorate, Kompol Dimitri Mahendra Kartika, when contacted on Wednesday (5/8/2026). Dimitri revealed the suspect is a male with the initials SA. The arrest was carried out by the Metro Jaya Police Resmob Sub-Directorate team led by AKBP Resa Fiardi Marasabessy. Dimitri has not yet spoken at length about the suspect’s arrest. His team is currently investigating the suspect’s statement. “We are still conducting the examination,” he added. The mutilated body was discovered on a vacant plot of land in Pancoran Mas, Depok, on Tuesday (4/8). The victim’s remains have been taken to the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, for an autopsy. Before the mutilated body was uncovered, residents had already found the sack on 24 July 2026. However, at that time, residents did not realise the sack contained a mutilated corpse. A witness later found the sack yesterday. The witness, thinking the sack contained rubbish, then set it on fire. However, while burning the sack, the witness noticed something suspicious. The sack turned out not to contain rubbish, but rather the body of the male mutilation victim. When found, the victim’s body was discovered without clothing. There was a slash wound on the neck and both hands were tied, while both legs had been mutilated.
