Depok Lebaran 2026 to be Held from 5-9 May in Tapos, Cipayung, and Bojongsari
Depok - Lebaran Depok 2026 will be held from 5 to 9 May 2026 in three areas, namely Tapos, Cipayung, and Bojongsari, featuring various Betawi and Nusantara cultural arts performances.
The Chairman of the Lebaran Depok 2026 Committee, Hamzah, stated that preparations for the event have been carried out together with various parties, from the government, DPRD, the Depok People Community (KOOD), to the TNI and Police.
“Alhamdulillah, we have arranged everything. The activities are cultural arts like last year, but denser,” said Hamzah, quoted from the official Depok City Government website.
Hamzah explained that the opening of Lebaran Depok 2026 will be held simultaneously in Tapos, Cipayung, and Bojongsari, while the closing will take place on 9 May 2026.
“Betawi culture will still be showcased, lenong is still there. We will also present Nusantara dances,” said Hamzah.
In addition, the committee is preparing performances by famous bands to liven up the event, although they have not yet been announced as they are still in the contracting stage.
Not only entertainment, Lebaran Depok 2026 also carries a mission of cultural education to the community, especially the younger generation.
Several typical Depok traditions will be introduced, such as rantangan (the tradition of sharing food), ngaduk dodol, to household cleaning activities.
“That is a priority, how Depok culture is reintroduced to the community,” he said.
To strengthen cultural education, the committee will also involve the education sector, one of which is through a cultural parade.
“We will invite teachers to join the cultural parade on the closing day,” he explained.
Various activities have been prepared since early April.
Hamzah hopes this event can strengthen the preservation of local culture, and in the future, it can be included in the education curriculum.
“It has potential to be proposed so that Depok culture can enter the curriculum, so that children know the history and culture of their ancestors,” he concluded.
