Depok gets new police chief

DEPOK (JP): City Police Chief Maj. Gen. Hamami Nata yesterday
inducted Lt. Col. Fajar Priantoro as the new chief of the Depok
Police Precinct.

Fajar replaces Lt. Col. Yudi Sushariyadi who has been assigned
to lead the South Jakarta Police Precinct.

Fajar was previously head of the Sabhara division at the City
Police's Directorate of the On-the-Alert Unit.

He graduated from the Police Academy in 1977 and has been
involved in several military operations, including Operation
Halilintar (Lightning) on Galang Island, Operation Seroja in East
Timor, Operation Jaring Merah (Red Net) in Aceh, Operation
Rajawali (Eagle) in Irian Jaya and Operation Galang in 1995. (24)
