Depok Education Office Ends Remote Learning, Schools to Return to Normal Tomorrow

The Education Office (Disdik) has announced that distance learning (PJJ) in Depok will not be extended. From tomorrow, teaching and learning activities (KBM) in schools will return to normal.

“All educational units, including PAUD, SKB/PKBM, and both public and private SD and SMP, are to resume learning activities normally in accordance with established regulations and schedules,” stated the Head of the Depok Education Office, Wahid Suryorkan, in a statement on Tuesday (8/9/2026).

Wahid noted that during the implementation of learning activities, all schools must increase vigilance and take preventative measures against the impact of volcanic ash. Students and teachers are urged to wear masks when engaging in outdoor activities.

“Schools must monitor the school environment and ensure cleanliness and safety. Coordination must be carried out with school stakeholders, such as school committees, parents, and the local Head of the Nutritional Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG),” he added.

Previously, the Depok City Education and Culture Office (Dindikbud) implemented distance learning (PJJ) or learning from home (BDR) for two days. This policy followed the impact of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau.

“Depok has taken the policy of learning from home (BDR) for two days, Monday to Tuesday. We will evaluate the developments later, hoping the situation improves,” said the Head of the Depok Education Office, Wahid Suryono, when contacted by journalists on Sunday (6/9).
