The Depok Education Office (Disdik) has denied complaints from schools regarding the financing mechanism of the Free Private School Initiative (RSSG) programme, which is paid every six months.

“It will be paid in the third or fourth month for six months,” said the Head of the Junior Secondary School Development Division of Disdik Depok, Muhammad Yusuf, when contacted on Thursday evening, 19 March 2026.

Previously, PKS politician Ubaidillah criticised the operational payment mechanism of the RSSG programme, which is disbursed every six months.

The Depok DPRD member also claimed to have received complaints from schools with minimal cash flow, making it difficult to fund monthly operations and even leading to debts.

According to Yusuf, the statements made by the PKS politician do not align with the government’s actual disbursements to schools.

“If the councillor suggested that it’s only disbursed after six months, the fact is not like that; it’s disbursed in full in the third or fourth month for six months,” Yusuf emphasised.

Yusuf revealed that in the first wave of RSSG in Depok, the government is partnering with 47 schools, both private junior secondary schools (SMP) and private madrasahs (Mts).

“If the total number of registered students is 2,472 students, the new academic year for Year 7 will be opened,” Yusuf stated.
