Depok District Court Judge Files Pre-trial Motion Against KPK Over Seizure in Land Dispute Bribery Case
I Wayan Eka Mariarta, a judge at Depok District Court, has filed a pre-trial motion against the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) challenging the legality of evidence seizure in a bribery case concerning land dispute processing.
“Case classification: legality of seizure,” according to the Case Tracking Information System page of the South Jakarta District Court, as verified on Tuesday (17 March 2026).
The pre-trial motion is registered under case number 38/Pid.Pra/2026/PN JKT.SEL. Mariarta, the former Chief Judge of Depok District Court, filed the pre-trial motion on Wednesday (11 March). The petition details have not yet been displayed on the South Jakarta District Court’s case management system, though the first hearing is scheduled for Monday (30 March).
The case originated from a KPK sting operation. The KPK subsequently designated I Wayan Eka Mariarta, Deputy Chief Judge Bambang Setyawan (currently inactive), and bailiff Yohansyah as suspects in a bribery case related to land dispute processing. They were arrested during the sting operation, which was marked by a dramatic pursuit.

Mariarta and Setyawan are alleged to have demanded a fee of 1 billion rupiah for case processing. In addition to the bribery allegations, Setyawan has been charged with accepting gratuities. He is suspected of receiving gratuities derived from a foreign currency exchange transaction valued at 2.5 billion rupiah from PT DMV during the 2025-2026 period.
