The Depok City Government has begun implementing a work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) every Friday. This policy follows the central government’s directives as part of adjustments to work patterns and efficiency.

Acting Head of the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) of Depok City, Endra, stated that the policy would soon be enforced.

“We will implement WFH on Fridays,” said Endra when contacted on Thursday (2/4/2026).

“The circular is in process,” he added.

He assured that the policy would apply to all regional government organisations (OPD) under the Depok City Government.

However, the WFH policy does not apply to ASN in the public service sector. Services to the public will continue as usual.

“Everything is the same on Fridays. For services, they will continue to operate,” he said.

Previously, the central government officially set a WFH policy for ASN for one working day per week, namely every Friday.

“The implementation of WFH for ASN in central and regional agencies will be for one working day per week, namely every Friday,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Airlangga explained that the choice of Friday was based on the characteristics of work activities deemed not as intensive as Monday to Thursday.

“Public services will continue to operate, and productive activities including banking, capital markets, and others will continue to run. Those at the offices are permitted to arrange it using certain applications,” he said.
