Depok City Government Expands Free School Bus Service, Here Are the Routes!

Based on the Depok City Government website, the programme is being expanded with new routes to support safe, comfortable, and orderly student mobility. The Head of Transportation at the Depok City Transportation Agency, Aan Syurahman, stated that the agency currently has two school bus units. “Currently, there is one active unit serving schoolchildren around Depok 1 (Pancoranmas) and Lembah Gurame,” said Aan, as seen by detikcom on the Depok City Government website on Sunday (3/5/2026). It is known that the Depok 1 route goes through Jalan Raya Sawangan to Jalan Gurame Raya. In the near future, Aan continued, the Transportation Agency will also operate an additional unit to expand the service coverage. “The plan is to activate another unit soon to serve the route from Kalibaru to Depok Timur or Depok 2,” he explained. Based on the route information in the socialisation materials, the school bus route passes through several strategic points. The route starts from the Transportation Agency office, namely: Jalan Abdul Gani-Jalan Dimun Raya, Tol Cijago (access to the main road), Jalan Bahagia Raya, Jalan Proklamasi, Jalan Kemakmuran Raya, to Jalan Merdeka. Next, the bus continues to Jalan Bahagia Baru, Jalan Lindri Giri, Waru Jaya, Jalan Sentosa, Jalan Proklamasi, back to Jalan Kemakmuran Raya, Jalan Merdeka, and ends at the depot (pool). This free school bus programme is part of the city government’s efforts to improve transportation services for students. The Depok Transportation Agency also encourages students to utilise this facility as a more efficient transport alternative and to help reduce traffic congestion on the roads. “With the addition of this new route, it is hoped that more students in Depok City can enjoy the benefits of the free school bus service,” he concluded.
