Depok AC Angkot Service Ceases Operations, Losses Since 2023
DEPOK – The Depok air-conditioned city transport (angkot) service has officially ceased operations starting from Saturday (2 May 2026). This information was announced via the social media account of PT Commuter Anak Bangsa (CAB). The letter states that the Mikrotrans Depok D-10A service has been incurring losses since it began operating in July 2023 due to sparse passenger numbers. This situation has led the operator to temporarily halt operations on the D-10A route. The Head of the Passenger Transport Section in the City Transportation Department (Dishub) of Depok, Mathaeous Ericson Siahaan, confirmed the suspension of operations. “The technical scheme remains the same: the D-10A route from Depok Terminal to Jatijajar Terminal via GDC (Grand Depok City) with more environmentally friendly or go-green vehicles, air-conditioned and equipped with CCTV,” he said when contacted by Kompas.com on Sunday (3 May 2026). Meanwhile, the Head of the Transportation Division of Depok’s Dishub, Aan Syurahman, stated that the use of electric fleets is expected to reduce operational costs, thereby allowing for cheaper fares. “This means that with fossil fuel vehicles, operational costs have been too high. Hopefully, the fare can now be a flat Rp 5,000,” he said, quoted from the Instagram account @pemkotdepok on Sunday. He also urged the public not to worry, as the service will resume in the near future. Currently, the plan to operate the electric fleet is still in the administrative stage before being relaunched.
