DEPOK, KOMPAS.com - The Depok air-conditioned city transport (angkot) service has announced it will cease operations on 2 May 2026. This information was shared via social media by PT Comuter Anak Bangsa (CAB). Based on observations by Kompas.com, announcements were also posted in the vehicle cabins during the final days of operation. Drivers bid farewell to passengers using the AC angkot service. Dodi, the Field Coordinator of PT CAB, confirmed that the AC angkot or D10A service will stop in a few days. He hopes the service can continue with assistance from the Depok City Government. “This angkot is purely private. If there is cooperation, for example, subsidies. Subsidies are not always in the form of money. It could be from KIR or taxes,” he told Kompas.com at Jatijajar Terminal on Wednesday (29/4/2026). The angkot, using Confero S vehicles, operates with a modern cashless system. The route serves from Depok Terminal to Jatijajar Terminal or vice versa. The fare for this AC angkot was initially Rp1,000 but is now Rp9,000. On the other hand, if fares continue to rise to cover operations, there are concerns that passenger numbers will decrease. Therefore, Dodi hopes the Mayor of Depok can provide policies regarding this issue. According to him, the angkot has always been full of passengers and is a choice for many public transport users who do not want to pay double for ojek online or transfers using other angkots. “The drivers also have families; if the angkot stops operating, they haven’t found new jobs yet,” he said.
