Departing 1,496 Participants, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Collaborates with PLN and Energy SOEs to Facilitate Free Mudik on 20 Routes
PT PLN (Persero) participated in the “Mudik Bareng Sektor ESDM 2026” programme, which was officially launched by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in Jakarta on Tuesday (17/3/2026). This routine programme, initiated by ESDM together with all state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in the energy sector, was joined by 1,496 homecomers on 20 routes to various regions in Indonesia. ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia explained that the programme has become a tradition as a form of cross-stakeholder collaboration to assist employees and families in the ESDM sector as well as the public in undertaking the Eid al-Fitr homecoming for 1447 Hijriah. “This joint homecoming is a tradition of the Ministry of ESDM together with stakeholders to facilitate all internal ESDM employees as well as the general public so they can homecoming for Eid this year. This is a form of togetherness between the government and the people,” said Bahlil. He added that this year, the Ministry of ESDM together with stakeholders provided a total of 33 buses to serve homecomers to various destinations, including West Java, Yogyakarta, Central Java, East Java, Palembang, up to Medan. “We pray that our brothers and sisters who are homecoming are always under the protection of Allah SWT, safe to their destinations, and can celebrate the Eid al-Fitr holiday later. We, the big family of the Ministry of ESDM and all SOEs in the energy sector, also extend our apologies for any wrongdoing and wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr celebration,” Bahlil stated. PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated that his company is proud to support the Minister of ESDM’s directives in organising this programme. The initiative aligns with the government’s efforts to provide more efficient, environmentally friendly, safe, and comfortable homecoming, while also helping to reduce traffic congestion. “Mudik Bareng Sektor ESDM 2026 is part of our commitment to support the safety and comfort of the community. We encourage joint efforts to reduce traffic accident rates, curb the number of private vehicles on the roads, and provide more efficient and environmentally friendly journeys,” he explained in a statement quoted on Friday (20/3/2026). In addition, as part of the ESDM family, PLN has prepared a reliable national electricity system during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr (RAFI) period in 2026. PLN projects a peak load of 35,017 MW, with a supply capacity of 51,967 MW, resulting in a power reserve of around 16,950 MW. Assessments and maintenance from upstream to downstream have also been conducted well in advance of the RAFI period. These efforts are carried out so that the public can observe Ramadan and celebrate Eid al-Fitr safely, comfortably, peacefully, and gather with family in full warmth. As a company entrusted with maintaining the reliability of the national electricity supply, PLN has prepared all infrastructure, from generation, transmission, to distribution, in optimal condition as a commitment to providing reliable electricity services during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr period in 2026. “Through this readiness, PLN wants to continue to be present for the community, supporting needs from the homecoming moment to the Eid al-Fitr celebration so that the public can gather with family in full warmth,” Darmawan concluded.
