Dentists family make record
SEMARANG: A family of dentists from Surabaya, East Java, will get their name noted in the Indonesian Museum of Records (MURI) as the first Indonesian family to all adopt the same profession.
The Kamaludin family -- the two parents, four children and three grandchildren -- are all dentists.
MURI director Paulus Pangka said here on Saturday that the first generation of Kamaludins to become dentists graduated from Airlangga University in Surabaya in 1977, while the latest just received a degree from Trisakti University in April.
Antara also reported that Waloeyo Soeparno's family from Semarang will also get their name in the record books as his three children have all given him twins.
According to Paulus the two extraordinary achievements adds to the number of MURI records registered to 585 national records. (dja)
