Dental Clinic Nurse Stabbed by Patient in Tangerang, Suspect Arrested

TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com - A man identified as MA stabbed a dental clinic nurse identified as P at Total Persada Residence in Periuk, Tangerang City, on Saturday, 30 May 2026. The suspect, who was a patient at the clinic, has been arrested by police and is currently being questioned. ‘He is currently undergoing further questioning as he remains silent during interrogations. We need to delve deeper and be cautious,’ said Jatiuwung Police Chief Kompol Rabiin when contacted by Kompas.com via WhatsApp on Monday, 1 June 2026. The suspect confessed to police that he stabbed the victim and brought a knife from home. ‘I don’t feel pain, but maybe there’s trauma—we don’t know,’ he stated. ‘I admit to stabbing and bringing the weapon from home,’ he added. Rabiin explained that, according to preliminary police statements, MA came to the clinic as a new patient for a dental scaling procedure. After the treatment was completed, the suspect went to the bathroom. Shortly after, he called the victim, who was working as a nurse at the clinic. ‘As soon as he was in the bathroom, he stabbed her. That is the actual sequence of events,’ Rabiin said. The victim was taken to Tangerang Regency General Hospital for medical treatment. ‘She is still receiving treatment. A check-up this afternoon showed her condition is improving,’ Rabiin explained. Although the suspect admitted his actions, police have yet to determine the motive behind the stabbing. ‘We are still investigating whether he was angry, experienced pain during treatment, or had another reason. This is what we are currently looking into,’ he said. Police are currently questioning the suspect to uncover the motive, including his mental state. ‘We don’t know yet; it’s not confirmed. If there’s a history, it will be determined by a psychiatrist, not based on hearsay,’ he said.
