Densus 88 Strengthens Pancasila Ideology to Prevent Radicalism in Bali
Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - The Antiterror Prevention Directorate of Densus 88 Polri is strengthening Pancasila ideology and youth resilience through the “Ratakan Bali Pro Max” programme, targeting 70 senior secondary schools in Bali province to prevent radicalism and extremism. “Schools are the frontline in building the character of students who are integrous, tolerant, and nationalistic,” said the representative of the Director of Prevention Densus 88 AT Polri, Kombes Pol Moh. Dofir, in Denpasar, Bali, on Thursday. He stated that the activity aims to enhance students’ resistance to ideologies contrary to Pancasila values. The programme is being implemented as a roadshow of national insight socialisation from 13-23 April 2026 as part of the national agenda to strengthen ideological resilience. The activity also responds to the dynamics of increasing threats of intolerance, radicalism, and violence among students, particularly in the digital era. The implementation of the programme involves cross-sector collaboration, namely Polda Bali, the Bali Provincial Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the Bali Provincial Education Department. During the roadshow, students are provided with understanding of the basic values of Pancasila, the importance of tolerance, and the potential threats of intolerance, radicalism, extremism, and terrorism. The material also covers the phenomenon of bullying, which has developed from physical, verbal to cyber forms, and its connection to violent behaviour among teenagers. According to Dofir, intolerance and bullying can become entry points to radicalism if not addressed early. Therefore, education and early detection are considered the main keys in prevention efforts. In addition, students are encouraged to become agents of change through the instillation of empathy values, unity, and critical thinking skills in filtering information in the digital space. “The educative and interactive approach used is expected to build collective awareness in the school environment to maintain harmony and prevent the spread of radical ideologies,” he said. The “Ratakan Bali Pro Max” programme is a concrete step by Densus 88 in strengthening the nation’s ideological fortress while preparing a resilient and patriotic young generation.
