Densus 88 Counter-Terrorism Unit Arrests 12 Terror Suspects, Individual Roles Revealed
The Indonesian National Police’s Densus 88 Counter-Terrorism Unit has provided details regarding the raid on a rented house used by suspected terrorists in the Antapani area of Bandung on Friday (2/10/2026). Authorities stated that the raid targeted a residence used by suspects affiliated with Daulah Islamiyah and other terrorist networks.
Police Commissioner Myndra Eka Wardhana, spokesperson for Densus 88, stated that a series of law enforcement actions involving 12 terror suspects have been conducted across several regions since Friday (2/10/2026). These operations took place in West Java, Central Java, Central Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, Riau, and North Maluku.
“The suspects are alleged to have links to networks affiliated with the Daulah Islamiyah ideology, as well as other terrorist networks,” he said in an official statement on Sunday (4/10/2026).
He explained that the roles of each suspect ranged from network consolidation and training activities to the dissemination of propaganda and recruitment, conducted both in person and via social media, as well as involvement in conspiracies to commit terrorist offences.
Myndra noted that these law enforcement measures were carried out in a measured manner to prevent terrorist attacks in Indonesia. The twelve suspects are identified by the initials HN (43), SM alias NM (52), HA (45), YDKAP (22), Y (36), S (49), A (32), CG (29), J (3lag), MF (37), AF (26), and MW (42).
“Preliminary investigation results show connections between suspects across different regions, particularly through online meetings involving indoctrination, network consolidation, and coaching activities,” he said.
One identified pattern involves the organisation of online meetings that virtually connect several supporters of Daulah Islamiyah from various regions. The investigation also uncovered evidence of training activities involving some of the suspects.
