Densus 88 Collaborates with STAIN Majene to Hold National Dialogue to Prevent Radicalism
One of the initiatives saw Densus 88 holding a national dialogue themed ‘Reweaving the threads of the nation, drawing wisdom, and safeguarding harmony from the currents of division’. The event, attended by 300 participants, was held in the fifth-floor auditorium of the TPD building at STAIN Majene, West Sulawesi, on Thursday (7/5/2026).
This activity represents a collaboration between the West Sulawesi Densus 88 AT Polri Task Force and STAIN Majene, in partnership with the West Sulawesi Provincial Government.
West Sulawesi Task Force Chief AKBP Soffan Ansyari stated that higher education institutions play a strategic role in building national ideological resilience and preventing the spread of intolerant, radical, and terrorist ideologies among the younger generation.
The Deputy Director of Counter-Radicalism from Densus 88 AT Polri’s Prevention Directorate, represented by Kompol Ridjoko Suseno, elaborated on the dynamics of radical ideology development and the importance of early preventive measures, particularly in bureaucratic environments and digital spaces.
Meanwhile, West Sulawesi Provincial Secretary Junda Maulana expressed appreciation for the event’s organisation. He viewed it as a positive synergy between local government, security apparatus, and educational institutions in strengthening national values and preventing intolerant, radical, and terrorist ideologies.
The dialogue featured terrorism expert Rida Hesti Ratnasari and STAIN Majene Professor Muliadi. Rida presented material on the role of campuses as the frontline in preventing radicalism, while Muliadi discussed the importance of early preventive steps, especially in digital spaces.
The event, attended by academics, government officials, community leaders, and students from the Majene Regency area, also included an interactive discussion session between participants and speakers. It is hoped that this activity will serve as the frontline in safeguarding national values and strengthening community resilience against radicalism and intolerance.
