The Indonesian National Police’s Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) Anti-Terrorism unit, alongside the Brimob Unit of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police, arrested three terror suspects in the province on Friday night.

Two suspects were apprehended in North Tomoli Village, Toribulu District, Parigi Moutong Regency, while a third individual was arrested in Poso Regency.

The Secretary of North Tomoli Village, Muhlis, confirmed the arrest of two residents living in the area. He noted that while both individuals had been residing in the village since 2015, they had not officially reported their relocation to the local authorities.

Muhlis explained that in their daily lives, the two suspects worked as cocoa farmers. He added that they were known by local residents to be quite reserved and rarely interacted with the community.

As of late Friday night, neither Densus 88 nor the Central Sulawesi Regional Police had issued an official statement regarding the identities of the three individuals or their potential links to specific terrorist networks. The suspects are currently being held by Densus 88 for further interrogation and investigation.
