The arrest and search were conducted at his home, with a number of armed personnel securing the location. The suspected terrorist, who worked at a rice mill, was subsequently taken to Jakarta.
Head of Criminal Investigation at the Ciamis Police, AKP Carsono, stated that his officers only assisted Densus 88 in providing security and securing the suspected terrorist. According to Carsono, the arrest of the suspected terrorist AR was made without any resistance, and the suspect was immediately placed into a prepared vehicle. The search resulted in the seizure of a jihadist book titled ‘Akhir Zaman’ (End Times), a mobile phone, and Densus 88 officers observed writing on the wall of his house that read ‘kunci surga’ (key to heaven). ‘We from the Ciamis Police only provided security, securing the suspected terrorist by deploying eight personnel. The security operation proceeded without any disturbances, and the suspected terrorist was immediately taken to Jakarta,’ he said.
He added that the investigation process, including the suspect’s network and further developments, falls under the authority of Densus 88. Based on information from local residents, AR worked at a rice mill and rarely communicated, especially within the neighbourhood around his home. ‘According to information from the public, the individual worked as a rice mill worker and was personally known to be quite reclusive, rarely interacting. He has been taken to Jakarta along with the evidence seized,’ he concluded.
